Are there different types of Breathwork?
YES! Breathwork is so popular these days and there are so many different types out there. Most people hear the word BREATHWORK and they automatically default to Wim Hoff, Holotropic Breath, meditation practices, or yogic breathing such as Kundalini and Pranayama. And of course each of these has their own benefits and purposes. But it wasn’t until I found Integral Breath Therapy through my own practice, that I had that ah-hah moment, where everything suddenly made sense and clicked.
The breath is the meeting ground between the conscious and the unconscious…
When you breathe with conscious connected breath, you enter into an altered state, where you can go beneath the monkey mind and access the subconscious, allowing what is underneath to come to conscious awareness.
This isn’t just Breathwork…
Integral Breath Therapy (IBT) involves one-on-one sessions with a trained facilitator who accompanies you in entering an altered state through different breathing techniques. This altered state allows you to go beneath the thinking mind and access your subconscious, releasing tensions, blocks, old thought patterns and beliefs on a cellular level. The presence of a facilitator provides a safe space for clients to let go and surrender to the breath, allowing stored emotions and experiences to surface and be worked through with corrective experiences, support, and a loving, non-judgmental environment.
IBT goes to the root…
To those core beliefs, and transforms them at the cellular level. It’s these core beliefs that have built up our programming, the lens we see the world through. Going to the root is crucial to creating a future that is different from the past; it’s creating lasting change.
This is about empowering you…
There are a lot of modalities out there these days that can bring everything up to the surface and leave you there to deal with it alone. In IBT a huge component of the work is the corrective experience.
We believe in your innate inner healer. You already have everything in you that you need. We offer tools and open up spaces for you to re-connect to your resources, your strengths and your essence., to begin to trust your body again, to trust your emotions, to trust your mind, and connect to your spirit, your essence.
IBT is a process of deep listening. The facilitator allows space for spontinaity, for what needs to emerge, and works with you through this co-creation.
So, what is Integral Breath Therapy?
Integral Breath Therapy (IBT)
– Is a powerful somatic tool which supports the essential brain changes necessary for integration and sustained healing.
– Transforms unprocessed emotions at a cellular level.
– Supports individuals in connecting to their innate inner healer and re-connecting to their resources, strengths, and essence.
– Addresses the impact of holding and tensing in response to stress or danger and how this can create body armouring that restricts movement and energy flow, impeding breathing and creating blockages that hold memories or emotions.
– Aims to allow the body to complete the fight-or-flight cycle, creating space for tensions to soften and disperse, and releasing trauma or emotion in a safe space guided by a facilitator.
– Is designed to enhance psychological, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
